Listening - 5 points
Writing - 5 points
Reading - 4 points
Speaking - 5 points

Total points earned - 19 points

If your overall point calculation matches with 67+, you dont need to worry and you're eligible to apply

I thought with the new system, CIC will be implementing the IELTS minimum requirements for all the FSW candidates. From one of the sites (this forum isnt allowing me to post links, but you can definitely google it) its mentioned that, as one of the major changes to new FSW program "Making language the most important selection factor by establishing new minimum official language thresholds and increasing points for language".
Also on another site (ciscimmigrant), it breaks down the structure of point system for IELTS.
The IELTS equivalent to CLB 8 is 7.5, 6.5, 6.5 and 6.5 on Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

Of course I am also waiting for a final guidelines from CIC regarding the new FSW program, but just wanted to give my two cents and apology i could post links as its not allowing me too.

bro, i checked this link and there is no difference between the very 1st link which i shared(newsroot) and this one. Information related to IELTS are same and points as well. So where is the confusion?

i misread your post above regarding the added points for the IELTS. We are all set actually.

Thank you for your response, respect and happy new year.

I heard that the FSW applications are being accepted from this month January 2013, or is it postponed till May 2013. i tried to put down some links which really confused me but its not allowing me to do so.

please advice,,

Federal Skilled Trade Worker Program (FSTW) is what opened in January which are based on different occupation list.
Please see the link for more detail :

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2013/2013-01-02.asp

This criteria has its own occupation list as well as set quota.

Thank you my friend,

And how long do we need to show the funds for ,is it for 3 months or 1 months for FSW?

Just to be on the safe side, I would suggest showing funds for at least 6 months prior.
Initially, a bank certificate should be sufficient that verifies that you have x amount of money in your bank account when sending the application packet to CIC.
However, CIC might as you to submit bank statement of past six months. In some cases I have read CIC asking applicants for a year prior statement and on some cases as early as 6 months.

You must get at least 6.0 on all abilities (CLB 7) for 16 points.
