IELTS: Can I use pencil for the writing section?

Hello all,

I think I lost touch in writing with pen and papers. The last time I wrote in paper was about 4 years ago during my university degree. So I am wondering if I can write IELTS exam entirely with a pencil? It's easier for me to correct my mistakes by using eraser. Is it allowed in IETLS to write exams using only pencils? Please do reply.

not only allowed but it is recommended to use pencil in IELTS

They only allow pencils. You must bring at most three pencils. In my case, they also provided us with rubber erasers.

Pencil is highly recommended. It's also highly recommended that you bring your own stationary.

I just completed my ielts exam on 5-dec. For the writing section you can write with pen or pencil as you wish but i would recommend using pencil , its easier to rub off mistakes and it doesnt look shabby. They provide pen pencil eraser and sharpner. Best of luck
