@Zeba
Better is to go with General module, however academic is also acceptable (here in this forum there are few people who sent TRF of academic module which was successfully accepted by the CHC).

Zeba is correct. I had to apply for the credentialing of my papers so I took the Academic IELTS. I also submitted the same results to CHC and they also accepted it.
BUT the requirements in the CHC website clearly state General IELTS.

general is easier to score than academic. however i have given academic module as i want to continue education in Canada and my file was accepted by CHC. I ve even undergone my medicals so i m sure u can take any one of the modules
There have been people who sent academic and had it accepted and there have also been people who sent academic and had it refused and were required to re-do IELTS to take general training.
It clearly says in the skilled worker application guide that you should take general training. If you wish to take something else, you put yourself at the mercy of the IO.
