I'm here under the IEC program with a 1 year work permit, and I would like to extend my stay here.
I'm a swedish citizen and my girlfriend is a filipino citizen, she has a permanent resident status here in Canada.
I'm currently employed at a car dealership as a "car jockey". Before I came here I was a truck driver in Sweden.
What is my best option for getting a new work permit?
We don't fulfill the common-law partner minimum requirement of 12 months living together yet and marriage is not an option at the moment.
Am I better off getting the AZ/DZ license and then finding an employer that can help me get a new work permit?
