UK citizen here.
I applied for IEC 2 year working holiday in December but didn't expect anything - I'd heard only lucky few get invited to apply for the visa (unsure of the terminology - visa or work permit or both?).
I intended to travel to Canada as a tourist this year regardless of whether I got a work permit and booked a flight for 27th April. (7 weeks and 4 days from now)
Then I received an invitation to apply on Monday! I have gone at turbo speed, got all docs submitted including police certificate and fees paid today. (Application waiting time is currently 8 weeks)
My questions are:
Can I travel to Canada as a tourist during this process? (How likely is it that I can make that flight on 27th April?)
It's not the end of the world if I don't make the flight - but I need to give notice to my current employer but don't want to leave my job too early.
I also want to give my employer as much notice as possible.
