If my partner has already applied for the IEC program, can we still proceed with a common-law partner sponsorship visa? Or does he need to withdraw his application in the IEC program before we apply for a sponsorship Visa?
A few extra information:
My partner applied for the IEC Program January 2020 for this year and was in the pool of candidates.
We were both prepared and informed our employers we were leaving at the end of July 2020. However, due to the pandemic, all IEC processing have been put on hold and because of the uncertainty of everything, we extended our contract in Japan.
We both live in Japan and have decided to apply for the common-law visa (as we qualified as common-law in June 2019)
