Hello Everyone,
Please what piece of ID can I use for my 6year old for her Canadian citizenship application? She has an American citizenship but her passport expired sometime last year and i haven't renewed it as it requires me to travel to American Consulate in Calgary which is out of province for me currently.

Health card and/or school record
Health card and/or school record
Our provincial health card doesnt have a photo on it. In addition, for the school record I guess I need get it from the school office?

From that link it says 2 documents of which only needs to have a photo. So i would think that the school ID card and health card should do. Not sure what they mean by school record; is it a school ID card? or transcripts (which wont apply to her) or a progress report?
They would accept hospital/immunization records for younger children

Ask the school to provide you with your child’s school index page/card. It has information and photo. Then ask them to stamp it with the school’s official stamp. That plus the health card. If you can’t obtain a photo ID, IRCC told me on the phone to provide her passport again with a letter of explanation that your province doesn’t provide a photo ID for children.
Many thanks will speak to them today,!

@Doda went to the school office today and they stated all that could be provided was a letter that will carry all the details but no picture as they don't keep any records in the school that hasstudents pictures unfortunately. The issue is her american passport expired last year march hence not seeing it as a valid form of ID. Is there a way one can call cic to ask what I can do in this situation?

I had the same response initially from the school until I asked them for the index page. But it could different here in Ontario. Call IRCC and tell them the situation as passports and IDs don’t have to be valid in order to qualify for citizenship application. Good luck.

@Doda I have spoken to IRCC and they stated I can use the expired passport as a piece of ID as the instruction says piece of photo ID and not valid photo ID so that will work since it's also not for travel purposes. So will use the expired American passport and health card. At least relived now.
Many thanks for your prompt replies
