we need to submit to photo ID for the citizenship application:
one could be a copy of drivers license,
but how about the second one? could that be a copy of the passport? because we are already submitting a copy of passport any way? can that be considered as the second photos ID?
My understanding the ID has to be a Canadian document, hence, passport does not count (otherwise CIC would have asked for 1 ID + passport). You can use the Health Card.
Ohh yes..I forgot to tell you about health card. If you have health card and driving license then these 2 will be the ID. Those who does not have driving license, passport copy is the alternate with health card to make 2 ID.
It says "two pieces of personal identification" not "two photo IDs".
For the two pieces of ID, if you read "Step 1: Gather the documents" of the guide, it says at least one must be a photo ID. That means, both can be photo IDs or you can have one with a photo and one without a photo. I submitted my provincial ID(has photo, date of birth, name) and health card(no photo, but has name and date of birth).
