I am having my O levels in Singapore at the end of this year and wish to continue my studies in Canada.
I've found out that the equivalent of O level is grade 11 in Canada and I should be attending grade 12 if I come to Canada with O level cert.
But the problem is, a school year in Canada starts in September, which means I have to wait 10 months to join grade 12?
Is there a shorter way? Like if I can transfer halfway, or maybe I can just study somewhere else and take the uni/college entrance exam?
Sorry I do not know much about things in Canada. Your advice is greatly apprreciated!!
I would complete your A levels and then look to study in Canada. If you come to Canada to study grade 12, you'll be paying around 14K per year tuition and also will not be allowed to work at all since you'll be studying at the secondary school level. It will also likely be very difficult to find a way to enter a school part way throughout the year. Finish your A levels then look to study in Canada at the post-secondary school level. That's the best plan.
