I need help with my visa extension problem!!!

Hi everyone, I’m an international student and I’m attending a university in Canada. I applied for my visa extension on March, 2021. And I received my passport with the visa on it. But I realized that my visa is for visitor and CIC gave me 6 years long for my visa. But I’m so confused since I’m a student which I should have student visa instead of visitor. Normally, the visa would have expired date as same as study permit. But my visa has up to 6 years which is as same as my passport expired date. I’m so nervous about my problem. Does anyone know why? Please help me!!!!!

If you're in Canada, try and call them - although expect to wait on hold for a while.
You can also contact them via the webform and ask them about it.

Did you apply for extension before or after your previous permit expired?

Just clarifying that your TRV specifies that you are a visitor not a student. You still have a valid study permit.

No need to worry they are issuing visitor visa to all students. I seen few post on Facebook International students in canada

Hie everyone
I applied for my Temporary resident visa and am in Canada as a student however when My passport came after stamping it says visitor visa?
I have no idea why it doesn’t say student like my previous Trv?
Does anyone else has an idea about it?
It will be appreciated if someone has any information regarding that and can share with me.
