Okay , so I came here 9 months ago. I applied for an visitors extension and got through. Now applied for an study permit (hoping I’ll get through).
Anyways my boyfriend is here we meet in July, he has been here For 2years but he is illegal. Now we don’t know what to do I need help.
Assuming I get the study permit , I think we should get married and after the 2 years of study I would apply for my PR and sponsor him. Is that an option ?
Or, is marrying a resident or citizen the only way out for him?

You won't be able to apply for a PR after 2 years of study only, assuming you get a study permit. I think your timeline is probably closer to 4 years just to get your PR application in, plus another 12 months after that to receive it, so about 5 years. During that time he has no health coverage and risks being deported. As far as "marrying" a citizen or PR to get status, he sounds like a real piece of work. Doing that would likely be seen as a marriage of convenience and he'd end up in the same boat. Perhaps he should consider respecting Canadian law and just go home.
