My Canadian fiancee is coming here in january 2016 and we are planning to have a civil wedding here in philippines. After we get our marriage contract he will apply for sponsorhip in spousal visa, but since it takes a minimum of 9 mos as we heard.. Can i apply at this moment for visitor visa so that i can go w him going back to canada after the wedding while my spousal visa is on process? Pls help me what the best thing I can do
Thank you
You can certainly try applying for a tourist visa to accompany your husband back to Canada. Unfortunately the chances are quite high this visa will be refused because CIC knows you are interested in remaining in Canada permanently. Having said that, you can certainly try to apply and see what happens.
