Hello,

I applied for SP extension before leaving Canada and it got approved finally.

I am going back to Canada in 12 days and the SP extension was sent to an address inside Canada, however, I do not have it with me.

My question is, when I return to Canada, at the airport, will they ask me where my new SP is ? Or they will know that the extension was approved and I don't need to it with me ?

( I have a valid TRV )

Thank you

CBSA should be able to see the extension in their system.

Unfortunately, I forgot to write my apat number in the application. I called the post and they said if there is a letter without apt number it gets returned automatically, so I haven't received it. I called CIC and they told me to change my address using the case form.

Would they print me one in the airport ?

call CIC they will be able to tell you wether or not your sp was returned to them. in case it was, they will sent you a new one. if you are out the country, you have no other options than to try explaining your situation to CBSA and see what happens.

Well the main bumper would be at Indian airport airline kiosk, they will definitely ask you for the permit and they don't have access to CBSA sites to check if you are granted one or not. Very hard to convince them on this. You can try to get as much documentation as you can, like current transcripts from canada school, enrolment letter, fee payment receipts etc etc.

At Canada POE they would find your permit in their system, but they don't suggest International students to travel without permits.

Good luck.!!

i was in thesame situation as you. my sp was approved but i never got it. i had an emergency backhome and had to leave canada urgently. i called and asked them to please make the PDF of my sp available on cic account which they did. i printed it and i travel with the copy.

I don't think I need to do that.. I think it will be enough to tell them that I haven't received it yet and they already should confirm that I got accepted.

okay try it and let us know. i wish you goodluck :)

I think there will be no problem if I tell them that I haven't received it and I called CIC ( I really did ) and they told me to change address and wait 6 weeks.

They would check on their system and see that I have been granted a SP extension and normally I would have it when I enter the country.

when are you coming back?
it all depends on the officer you meet when coming back. some officers give hard time, seriously. but lets hope for the best.

in 10 days, and I still have my current SP btw which expires in 31 august. Yes it is still valid and yes he can check that I was accepted to extend my SP. So everything is okay... I guess?
