I already have a bachelor's degree and applied for a diploma. Chances of granting student permit?

I recently graduated and had my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (major in Marketing) in the Philippines. Also, I was not under the k-12 program in high school. Recently, I applied for a diploma in SAIT also in business administration but I'm planning to major in another field, either Accounting or Supply Chain Management. I'm thinking of upgrading it to a bachelor's degree in the future but initially my plan is to get a PGWP after graduating and eventually apply for PR.
For the duration of my study, I will be living with my uncle and his family.
I've read in some threads that some people had their student permit rejected because they already have a degree and studying for a diploma can be a "downgrade". I'd like to know if anyone has had any similar experience? And what chances do I have of being granted a student permit?
