Hi all, I’m a Senegalese student that got accepted to Concordia University for the Fall term 2018.
I applied for the visa but it’s taking time, so I deferred to the Winter session so I don’t start classes late. They sent me a new admission letter.
So my question is, even though I applied for a study permit for Fall 2018, can I still start class in Winter 2019 without starting the whole process again? We paid a lot of fees and I don’t think my parents would do it again.
Thank you very much

1. No, you don't have to start again. Send a copy of the deferment letter to the processing office.

since you have successfully deferred you admission to winter and gotten the new offer letter, its "also" advisable for you to wait before you send the new admission letter to cic given that most school's resumption is pegged on Sept 4th(don't know if yours also falls on same date) and as well mostly given 2wks as a deadline for late resumption.. wait at least till the deadline of your school's resumption before you send the new letter if by then you hear nothing from cic.
Also, if cic is to meet a decision on your permit, they will always request for a new admission letter from you, so wait and see the outcome for now
To your question, yes.. you can start winter class without starting the process over again
