Hello,
I'm a Canadian citizen married to a Romanian. I applied first for sponsership and it got declined. I applied for at least a VISITOR visa and it got declined, now i sent an immgration request through a lawyer and waiting to see whats gonna happen.
Does anyone else think this is ridiculous? Ive been married for almost a year AND im pregnant and stuck in Romania
It makes sense the visitor visa was declined after PR was declined since CIC knows your husband has plans on remaining in Canada long term and wasn't simply intending to come as a temporary visitor. Once PR was declined, there was really no point applying for a visitor visa - refusal was pretty much guaranteed (your lawyer should have known this).
Why was the PR application refused? What were the issues with the application or what concerns did CIC have with your relationship? Or was it because CIC was questioning your intent to return? Did you appeal? Either appealing or submitting a new PR sponsorship application would have been the way to go. If you by any chance have an appeal underway, there's an active appeals thread on this forum discussing this process. Unfortunately refusals aren't that unusual and we do have plenty of people on this forum going through the appeal process after a refusal.
An immigration request through a lawyer isn't going to get you anywhere. Your lawyer should know this. Might be time to get rid of your lawyer if your lawyer recommended this. You need to either appeal the refused PR application (if you haven't done this already) or submit a new PR application addressing the reasons for the refusal. Forget about the visitor visa - it's not going to be approved.

Why are you stuck in Romania ? Do you not live in Canada ? Maybe that is the reason for not accepting his PR that you cannot prove you can support him for two years of him being in Canada with you. Do you have all that sorted out did you meet that eligibility to sponsor him would be first question and step to look at. did you guys get any reasons why it was denied ?
