Our spousal sponsorship (common-law) was received Aug 12th. AOR received in email on September 1st. And the application for me, the sponsor application is still on "In Process" since August 31st. We mailed my partner's open work permit application later separately on Oct 19th to Vegreville (Unit 777), but 3 weeks ago, and we still have not received any email or anything from CIC saying they have received the application. :-[
The instruction guide told us to mail using lettermail instead of courier, so I have no idea whether they actually received it or not. :'(
Is this normal? Has anyone had similar experience? Plus, I don't know why my sponsor application is taking more than 2 months...
IRCC will not acknowledge receipt of the work permit app. There is no instruction stating that the app needs to be sent by regular mail instead of a courier. You should have used a courier.
The current posted processing time for the first stage of an inland app is 16 months.
Oh my god... I got confused by the instruction because it said to use an envelope... fml... Will they provide me with an application number once they start processing it? I read that people who sent their OWP application with sponsorship application together get to see the application status of their OWP on "check my application status".
Mailing instructions
Put the completed forms, supporting documents and fee payment receipt in a 23 cm x 30.5 cm (9" x 12") envelope. Do not include a prepaid envelope with your application.
Note: If you are applying as a family, send all the documents to the Case Processing Centre in one envelope.
Ok thank you. I tried MyCIC. There is nothing. I assume it is because I submitted by mail, not online. I couldn't figure out how to get to the right application online. I guess I will wait til December, and if nothing appears, I will give them a call. Worst case scenario, I just have to send another application before Dec 22, when the pilot program ends.

We had my wife's OWP before we could figure out how to find it in myCIC. if you ask in the inland 2016 thread, they have figured out how to find it.... Paper applications still have to be entered into the system..
Hi, When you send the Inland application with open work permit, the AOR received/ account status only refers to Sponsorship application. It does not mention anything about work permit application enclosed. So, how can i track OWP application.

Thanks for your quick response. I read the comments but i am unable to track owp by that way. Linking only works for sponsorship application. I am not able to see OWP status anywhere. Thanks in advance

Hi, for owp we don't have Application number so, i tried with uci and family name and selected category and sub category as you suggested but it is not working. Could you suggest something.

Should work with uci and family name. Try leaving passport info blank. It can take a month or two to link the owp...so not sure when ircc received yours. Once they get it they forword it on to Vegreville.
I sent OWP + Inland PR application. On tracking with PR Application number it shows 'Application Received'. That implies OWP should also have been received but even then not able to link OWP application separately to my account. (I am able to link PR application to my account)
* Tried all combinations (like by leaving passport details empty)
