Hi Guys,
I got ITA last week and I am planning to apply for Police clearance certificate (India) through Consulate of India located in Canada.
Can anyone please guide me on the procedure? Also, can anyone confirm if we have to submit our Indian passport to the consulate during the course of this POC application?
Thanks
Rob

Submit an application thru BLS India. http://www.blsindia-canada.com/ Click on Passport -> Police clearance certificate and follow instructions
Select your nearest center and submit the application with photos according to indian consulate specifications. They also take photos there.
Yes. you need to submit your original passport which will be sent to the consulate. You need to show the original visa that makes you legal in canada, to the staff for verification. Depending on whether you visited India after you came to canada and criminal record status in India, the PCC processing times vary between. I got it in 1 week. For few it has taken several weeks or even months. Hope this helps.

Thanks. My current VISA got expired and I am in process of renewing it. The problem is, for renewing VISA also i have to submit my passport to CIC. This process will take 3-4 weeks. SO do i have time if i start the PCC after doing this VISA renewal is the question.
Alternatively, can i give for PCC first?? do they require the renewed VISA? Please note that i have valid WORK PERMIT till 2017.
Thanks
Robin
