How to sponsor my 9 yr old nephew.

I have a 9 yr old nephew (my brothers son) whom I want to bring to Canada to continue his studies and live with us. Is it possible to do so and how can I go about the same.

He doesn't fall under the family class for you, so you can't sponsor him that way.

I believe the only way is to apply for a study permit for him. Although this would mean he has to pay international student fees for his education, which are quite high.

Also note that he WOULD have to return back to his home country after his studies. If CIC do not believe that this is the plan, he will be refused a study permit.

You're looking at around $13K per year in tuition (for a public school). Living expenses will obviously be extra.

If you are interested in moving forward with this plan, the first step will be to find a school that is willing to accept him. Next, he (or rather, his parents) will have to apply for a study permit.
