Hello everyone.
I am a PR living in Ontario. I am trying to help my mother visit me for less than 6 months. She is applying online. These are the supporting documents that she must upload according to the instructions she got online:
Supporting Documents
- Travel History
- Passport
- Invitation Letter
- Proof of Means of Financial Support
- Digital photo
- Purpose of Travel - Other
- Family Information (IMM5645)
- Proof of Relationship
- Authority to Release Personal Information to a Designated Individual (IMM5475)
I can see that some of those documents are actually forms and forms usually have places where applicants sign. But, how would she sign those forms before uploading online?
Any suggestions, anyone? Thanks.

IMM5257 should not be altered outside the given options in the documents.
Other forms can/may/should be printed, scanned, uploaded with signature.
When you submit the full application the option for signing it online will become available.
Thanks. I am little confused now. Kindly rephrase the first 2 lines you wrote.

Don't sign IMM5257 but sign the others.

Print it, sign it, scan the signed copy, then upload online (Except 5257, you don't need to sign it).
BTW, don't you need 5707 for family information?
According to this link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp
Thanks. Yes, that form is needed for family information. But, according to the online application requirements, when she logs in to her account, it says that form 5645 has to be filled out for family information. There are two types of forms for family information: 5645 and 5707. For her, they asked for 5645.
This temporary visa application has one funny thing. They expect my mother to have a return ticket. Why would she purchase a return ticket without having any visa issued to her?

Think of it from Canada's perspective: Why should they give her a visa if her travel plans are not solid?
A Visa is requested for nationals of countries that CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

LOL. Harsh but may be true.
The bad part is that, if the visa app is rejected, she won't have a 100% refund on the tickets due to a penalty of cancellation.

Try buying refundable tickets, some airlines offer them. Other airlines offer "cancellation insurance".
Best of lucks.
