Hi , i am from delhi , INDIA . I have got my PR application approved I will be landing in canada next month. As per the CIC website i need to bring 14800 CAD as proof of fund to canada. I was planning to bring a prepaid forex card but i read somewhere that bank account statement and forex card is not accepted as proof of fund.
Please those who have landed in canada from india , guide me with your experience.
Hi Sharad,
You can take funds either in the form of Demand Draft, Traveller's Cheque or Cash
Travel Cards and Bank Statements can't be verified when you are doing your landing formalities at the Immigration desk or while you make your final exit
You can open a a/c in canada through these banks.

That's what I said in my post. With regards to the previous poster, you can make a bank draft even if you don't have a bank account in Canada. You would have to tell your bank that you would be using the bank draft for depositing your money to a Canadian bank in Canada, though.
Also your suggestion for Scotia bank might be problematic (because the Dubai branch doesn't accept cash):
