MY QUESTION IS AS I FALL UNDER TEMPORARY FORIEGN WORKER STREAM. I START WORKING WITH MY COMPANY IN JAN 2010 AND FOR FIRST SIX MONTHS I WORKED 24 HOURS PER WEEK AND THEN ONWARDS I AM WORKING 40 HOURS PER WEEK. I CALLED IMMIGRATION AND THEY SAY WE DONT KNOW ANYTHING EXCEPT WE NEED EITHER 1950 HOURS IN ONE COMPLETE YEAR OR 37.5 HOUR PER WEEK FOR FULL 1 YEAR. SO FOR WHOLE YEAR 2011 I WORKED 40 HOURS PER WEEK WHICH IS FINE TO SATISFY ONE COMPLETE FULL TIME YEAR EXPEREINCE BUT FOR YEAR 2010 I WORKED APPROXMATELY 1700 HOURS AND SHORT OF 250 HOURS FOR THIS YEAR. SO I AM WANDERING IF I HAVE TO WORK THIS WHOLE YEAR 40 HOURS PER WEEK IN ORDER TO FULL FILL THE 2 YEAR FULL TIME WORK EXPEREINCE OR SHOULD I WORK 250 MORE HOURS IN ORDER TO FULLFILL HOURS FOR 20100 AND THEN APPLY. PLEASE REPLY , CONFUSE??? I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WHO HAD SIMILAR SITUATION AND APPLIED ALREADY. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
I might be wrong but from what i understand anything above 37.5 hours will NOT be counted. You either work for 37.5 hours or you work less than 37.5 hrs. if you work less than 37.5 hours then, you have to work for more than a year to bring the total hours worked to 1950.
but, if you have worked for 40 hours, it doesnt matter to cic because they will stop calculating your hours after 37.5 but you still have to do 1 year.
In short
37.5 hours * 1 year (104 weeks) = 1950 hours = you should be good to go
40 hours * 11 months (49 weeks) = 1950 hours = NOT good to go as you worked less than 1 year for they will calculate it as 37.5*11 months = approx 1725 hours
35 hours * 13 months (56 weeks) = 1950 hrs = should be good to go
paid holidays are counted. unpaid are not.
So if you do your calculation, i get (and i may be wrong)
Jan 2010 - June 2010 = 24 hours * 6 months (26 weeks??) = 151 hours
July 2010 - June 2012 (????) = 2 years *37.5 hours = 3900 hours
thanks for replying guys....
I know this way we can calculate and fulfill hours but nobody is sure that it's the right way to fulfill 2 year full time experience.
It would be great if someone has simillar situation and could possibly reply me..
My reply to SenoritaBela:-
sorry if make you hard to read, i'll sort it for you below:
