I applied for PR about 2 years ago, and 3 months ago I was asked to submit IELTS score along with updated version of application, which I am done. I did self-assessment for points and am satisfied for qualification and I am expecting their decision in next couple of months from now.
My question is "How to delay/postpone the decision on my application" because I can't move to Canada for at least 2 more years because of my commitment with present job. Can I ask the immigration officer to postpone my application for 1 year? OR is there anyway i can delay the processing of my application for PR.

Only Option i can think of is - If you can bear the costs - Book a round trip for 1week - Go to canada and complete the formalities.
I don't think they will delay the Approval.
Just my 2cents
A friend of mine was also in the same situation as you.The company told him that they will only grant him leave if he is moving canada as a visitor and not as immigrant,They also informed him that if he is moving canada as an immigrant he have to leave his present job.
So later he applied for visitor visa for UK and showed that company that he is moving to UK as a visitor and will return bak after the 6 months when visitor visa expires and the company granted him 6 months leave.
he booked flight for canada and transit from UK.Got his PR card, lived there 6 months and came bak
