Basically what I am looking for is a means of explaining the circumstances to a charge, proving rehabilitation and getting it expunged from one's police record. The Canadian term would be "pardoned". I've spoken with lawyers in T&T who do not seem to be aware of the process. I even called the CIDC office in POS where you would get your police record and she told me it is impossible. I'm sure there must be some means. Does anyone know?
I can't tell you if expunging records is possible in T&T.
However you should be aware that even if you are successful, this won't necessarily make your partner admissible to Canada. CIC may still deem him inadmissible and he may still have to wait five years from the time he completed his sentence/penalty before he qualifies to apply for rehabilitation. It will ultimately be up to the officer who processes the application. So going this route is a gamble that may or may not pay off.
Based on your earlier posts is looks like his last conviction was in 2011. When did he complete his sentence for this conviction (or complete paying the fine or probation or community service)?
