Do a lot of research and understand the Canadian job search process as it is likely to be very different from what you're used to. You need to have a Canadian styled resume, cover letters and understand how and what is expected of you in networking and interviews. The rules and expectations will be different, so learn as much as you can.

There are a number of specific job sites that people have posted where you can post your (Canadian) resume and search for positions to apply for.

I've found some short tips for job hunters:

# Immigration Services: They always know what's going on and sometimes they develop plans with the government. If you are lucky, you may get good help from them. You can find a list of Immigration Services Agencies here.
# Professional Associations: If you can join your professional association, that'd be a good way to get in touch with your colleagues in Canada. They may be the best source of information and advice you are looking for. You can find a list of Professional Associations in Canada here.
# Cold Calls: Investigate, look for the companies where you'd like to work at, pick up the phone and try to get a meeting with a manager in your area or someone at human resources. Yes, I know it's hard to do. But some people have what it gets to do it.
# Talk to others... Use the power of networking! Networking is the most powerful tool in this country, you don't want to ruin it!
