How to get 3 years PGWP

Hi All,

I have a question about the post graduation work permit of 3 years after 2-years of study. Is it applicable to have 3 years of PGWP after post-secondary diploma which have a study duration of 2 years of full-time study?

I heard that you should complete a master of 2 years to have the 3 year of PGWP. This is the only way to have the 3 year PGWP after 2 years of study. And the post secondary diploma of 2 years will give you only 2 years max. of PGWP?

I am planning to study for next Sep. 2017 for a Diploma of full-time for 2 years.

The issue is that my passport will expire in August 2021. This means in less than 2 years after the finishing of the study program.

So, if i applied for post graduation work permit after a full-time of 2 years diploma, my passport would have only one year and around 10 months to expire. Should i still qualified to receive 3 years of PGWP? if no, what should i do?
