My self and my wife are Canadian PR and we have filed our first Tax Return in the year 2014. My wife is not working and I have worked just 3 months in the year 2015. We are going back to our Home country this month last. We haven't decided when to back Canada. Would there be any legal issues if we could not file the Tax Return for the year 2015? Is there any other option we can do?
Why don't you contact the International Tax Office of the CRA about your options? It's easy to file a return - just download a form from the website, complete it and mail the form....
If you've already established tax residency for 2014 you'll want to properly file and exit 2015 Canadian tax return after you leave. If not you may run into problem after you return.
We file lots of these type of returns, please let me know if you need any help.
