My 2 years work permit expires 02/2015, my ainp nomination will be only (hopefully) may 2015, in worse case -july 2015.
Regarding to the new rules, I guess I wont be able to extend wprk permit as my employer wont get a new LMIA due to recent changes.
Cant show the link as Im not allowed to post them.
How can I remain in Canada and wait for my nomination to be issued to be able to apply for PR and bridging work permit?
Any ideas?
Thanks to everyone and good luck with your papers!
Without an LMIA you can't extend your current work permit.
If your current employer can't / won't get an LMIA and you want to keep working, then you would need to find a new employer who is willing to offer you a job and also willing / able to obtain an LMIA.
You need to have a valid work permit in order to apply for the bridging open work permit. So you have no choice but to find an employer who can obtain an LMIA.
Thanks.
But the nomination will be issued for this current employer. My stre is employer driven semi-skilled.
Some people say i can wait ainp nomination being on tourist visa and then if it comes go to apply for a new work permit (no need lmo for pnp nominated workers) and apply for pr. Is this right?
Yes, you can apply for a work permit after you receive a nomination certificate from the AINP, so all you need to have is nomination letter, job offer from Alberta employer, plus copies of passport, previous WP if any, fees.
Hope that you get the AINP certificate before your work permit expires so you can apply for bridging open work permit and be on implied status. I don't think you can be nominated if you change to a tourist visa.
