As required, we submitted wedding cards etc as part of our proof of relationship package and it was indicated in CIC's documents that these would be returned. Has anyone else had their documents returned? If so, when did this occur in relation to the various processing steps?
Also, I noticed in ECAS that my husband's "Current home address" is still his old one - and I have sent numerous requests via case specific enquiry (the only way to update out of Canada addresses) to update this to no avail. I'm afraid that they perhaps have sent the items to his old address and we will never see them.
Most people do not get their supporting documents back. That's why it's recommended to not send originals unless explicitly asked.
Did your country-specific guide specify that you must send originals? If so, then you should get them back, but you may need to contact the VO to request them.
*Edit: I just looked at the guide for the Middle East, it says that they will be returned. I'd suggest checking the Abu Dhabi thread to see when people generally got their documents back. I believe they are returned after the application has been finalized.

I have already sent a CSE...one additional problem is that they refuse to update the address for my husband in Dubai. I have sent 4 separate CSE's requesting them to update the address. Not sure why they are not responding on this.
