Hi, HK office requested for my passport the other day but they didn't ask me to redo medical.
It's less than 2 month before my medical expires. (sep 1)
I wonder if you have similar experience that the visa offices give you very little time left that you must land.
You actually have plenty of time compared to others. Other applicants get their Visa like 2 weeks before the medical expiry, the embassy makes sure they present a booking certificate making sure that they are able to land before the medical expiration.
If you would like longer time to prepare, you can email the embassy that you would like to redo your medical so you have longer Visa validity.
I was wondering if anyone knows the normal time for the visa to be issued after the passport has been requested. I have looked around and it seems there is quite a range from a couple weeks to several months. I would think if they have requested your passport, they must be almost done processing your file. Am I wrong?
You are right and its generally couple of weeks, also in case if your medical is expiring than they are going to confirm from you whether you are able to land between that time period or not.
