Hello guys! My husband studied for one year and is now working using his PGWP. Hes working for a software company.

Because of the pandemic I was not able to get fulltime employment using my SOWP. We still dont have enough points for EE.

Now I am thinking of going to school for a graduate certificate while my husband gets an SOWP. Basically we will be switching our status.

I am planning to apply to a school and then a student visa before our current OWP and PGWP expire in December. that way we can be on implied status until I get a student visa in time for the classes next year.

How much settlement funds do I need to show when I apply for a student visa and owp for my husband (and for our two small kids). Since he is already working fulltime and can support my housing, bills, and needs while I am studying. Do I still need to show a lot?

Can we use his work papers to show that we can support ourselves while I am studying instead of settlement funds?

You want to show you have enough funds saved to cover your first year tuition + living expenses for you, your husband and your children. You can also show that your husband is employed. However it's important to show a bank balance / savings that cover the amount you will need. So yes, you still want to show a lot.

Okay, we'll keep this in mind, thank you for your reply
