My IELTS result is : L-6.5, R-7, S-7 and W-6.5 - overall score is 7 bands.
I want to apply for immigration under new FSWC in Jan 2013.
I calculated my points as below:
age below 30 years-12
work exp- (3.2 years)-11
education- (B. Tech) professional degree- 23
if what i calculated above is correct , then i still need 21 more point to get 67 points.
can anyone let me know if my IELTS score would suffice this need or do i need to take it again.
if this score is not sufficient and i register again for IELTS. if due to any reason that score even goes worse than this, can i still present my earlier score? Is it necessary to present the latest IELTS score even if the earlier was better?
Please help. I am very confuse about 2nd take of this test.
I'm not expert in calculation, this is based on my reading and reference to external sites (extract given below) which uses the following calculation
Language Factor
===========
1. Requiring minimum language abilities in order to qualify for the program. The proposal is to set it at Canadian Language Benchmark 7 (CLB 7) for all four abilities (speaking, listening, reading and writing). It's equivalent to IELTS Score of 6.
2. The number of points for the second official language (French) would be reduced from 8 points to 4 points.
3. Significantly increasing the maximum points awarded for fluency in one official language from 16 points to 24 points. The computation would be as follows:
CLB 7 = 4 points (IELTS 6)
CLB 8 = 5 points (IELTS 6.5 for Reading, Writing and Speaking. For Listening it's 7.5)
CLB 9 = 6 points (IELTS 7 for Reading, Writing and Speaking. For Listening it's 8)

thanks for the information.
Can you please help little more !
i have read somewhere (can't remember where i read ) that to get 6 points in Reading one has to score 7.5. is this true? if so then i have to take it again.
Actually i have no issues in attempting it again. but my concern is : if in case i would score even less than this, can i still show my old report. Is there any restriction that we have to show the latest one even we score better in the old one? Please suggest. If so then i can book the next date without any tension
hmm that means i can't score 21
regarding 23 points via education- let me tell you , I am not very sure about calculation. What do you think i can get based on education - your opinion?
