I am sponsoring my wife for PR application. My wife, as principal applicant should fill the IMM 5406 and IMM 5669. Other than the one she needs to fill for herself, does she need to fill additional 5406 and 5669 for her mom (my in-law) who is not applying for PR? What does the requirement "You (the principal applicant) must fill out this form for yourself and on behalf of any of your family members 18 years of age or older who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents." mean? Does it mean seperate 5406 and 5669 are needed to be filled for my in-law? Or it means the information needed only in my wife's 5406 and 5669?
5406 and 5669 will have only 1 entry for her. Unless you sponsoring both of them.
Family in IRCC Context means: An applicant’s closest relatives. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children.
In other words, everyone in your family tree above you (usually Older than you) - Parents, grand-parents etc are not considered part of your family.
A spouse, common-law partner, dependent child or dependent child of a dependent child (grandchild), who plans to immigrate to Canada with the principal applicant.
