My niece is being sponsored already by her mother to migrate or go to Ontario. Her paper and passport are to be submitted latest September 15.

My niece would like to finish her high school here in Manila till April 2015. Is it possible that she will travel on April 2015 still and not earlier???

Her mother had told her she will finish her schooling first before her visa will be released but since her passport is being asked already at this time, she is worried that she has to go before their graduation.

Any feedback please.... thanks a lot...

Generally, the visas are valid for a Year from the date of issue but in some cases the duration was between 3 to 6 months also.
BTW, schools in Canada are best and in most cases you do not miss the Academic year.

Incorrect. A COPR is generally valid for a year from the date of the medical. If the medical is extended, the COPR will be valid for around 2 years from the medical date.

COPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residence, the document required to land as a PR.

There are a few possibilities when it comes time for the COPR to be issued:

- If the medical is still valid (less than a year old), CIC may issue the COPR with a date 1 year from the medical (even if it's only a short window) or they may extend the medical for another year
- If the medical has only just expired, CIC may extend it for a year or request a new medical
- If the medical has been expired for several months, CIC will almost certainly request a new medical
