My medical expired September 2012. requested 2nd medical early of the month. We completed the medical tests last week. How long it will take for PPR after 2nd medical? anybody have any experiences on 2nd medical please share your experiences

I have done also 2nd medical (only chest X-rays) on November 13, 2012 and still waiting for PPR.

Hi Kag and msaleemb,

I think it depends each VO/CHC or officers...
Btw, Have you received something about an extension of your medical result before you got a request of 2nd medical?

Thanks,

I received following email from London Office.

Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your email of October 4, 2012. As your medical results were to expire on October 10, 2012, we had sent a request to our medical section to reassess medical results for yourself and your family in order to enhance the validity of your medical results. We have now received a response from the medical section who advise that a repeat chest x-ray is required for all except Khadija who's medical will now expire on 26-09-2013.
Please note that the letters requesting you to undergo repeat chest x-ray will be sent to you by our medical section very soon. The results for the background checks have been received which are satisfactory, this means that we will be ready to issue your permanent residence visas as soon as your new medical results have been assessed and updated in our system.
We apologies for any inconvenience.

Yours sincerely,

Hi everbody
I did Medical on September 2012
I hope not to expire without PPR ???

Hi Msaleemb,

Does your E-CAS show a line which shows that the London VO already received your 2nd medical result?
I don't know how long your PPR will take, I'm afraid, but guess you can ask London office if the office already received and opened your 2nd medical result.

According to CIC webpage( http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp ), there is a new process that will allow medical validity to be extended if your application processing is completed within 15 months of the original medical exam and the only thing stopping your application from final approved and PPR is the expiry date of your medical results (or ability to reasonably land within the initial year-long validity).
CIC webpage shows that the new process has already started.

Because you seem to be eligible to above program, I think your old X-ray result was probably not clear for CIC officer(s) and then they ordered you to take 2nd X-ray in order to assess it again more carefully. If so, maybe processing for your 2nd medical result will not take long time because they just need to assess your X-ray results.

Hope your PPR coming soon!
Good luck.

Dear oba3,
My E-CAS is not showing the line that "the London VO received the medical result."
I sent an email to London office and received following reply.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your message. We are currently awaiting medical results for your spouse to be assessed. We will be in contact once your spouses medical results have been assessed and updated.

Yours sincerely,
