I received my PPR email today requesting my CSQ, my passport copy, and the ROPR fee. Since my husband hasn't been working for the past month and I've been staying with him in Canada as a visitor since July, we are unable to afford the ROPR fee at the moment but will be paying it either that last week of March or the first week of April. I am wondering how long it typically takes someone to receive their COPR after they give the CPP-Ottawa the requested documents.
I would like to fly out visit my family in May (I would leave around the 18th) and then go through the 'landed immigrant' process on my way back, and I was wondering if that would be cutting it too close? I'm worried that if I don't have my COPR when I try to return I will be denied entry at the airport.
My CORP would be mailed to my address in Canada (unless they e-mail it), so I would prefer having it before I leave.
It should be. The longest I've heard it took was 5 weeks for Ottawa to return passports, so if they get your documents on early April, consider worst case scenario, let's say 6 weeks, you'll get your COPR on mid May TOPS

if your visa office is LA you cannot be sure how long it will take coz i sent my passport for corp to LA on Jan 11/2013 and still haven't heard anything from them yet its been 2 months now but if your dealing with Ottawa they are pretty good at returning passports...good luck.. the earlier you send it the better for you
