Hi everyone! This morning my husband who I am sponsoring, received an email stating the office has sent him his confirmation of permanent residence. Does this mean once he gets that , he can come to Canada right away with that letter? How long does the confirmation of permanent residence take to come to home mailing address ? Are there any other steps he needs to do when he gets the COPR before coming here or can he just book a flight and come to Canada? Thanks a lot !
Takes a few days, depending on where in the world you are. Shouldn't take longer than 2 weeks though.
I'm assuming your husband is from a visa-exempt country (otherwise they would have asked for his passport to give him a visa). If that's correct, then yes, all he needs is the CoPR and he can fly to Canada and become a PR when he lands at the airport.
Congratulations.
