How long can I stay in Canada legally with V1 Visa?

I am traveling in Canada with V1 visa and I hope to know how long can I stay in Canada. The issued date of this visa is 2/1/2014 and will expired on 2/6/2014. My friend told me that I can only stay in Canada for 28 days, if I stay longer, I will meet problems in my next application of Canadian V1 visa. Is that true? Could anybody tell me something if there are really some policies like that. Thanks a lot!~

1. Your friend hasn't a clue.
2. You probably will be admitted for up to 6 months on entry.

PMM is correct . you May get 6 months entry, however my personal opinion is why spend 6 months if you on holiday V-1 ?

No problem staying the 6 months but future application any VO will ask him/her self why did you spend this amount of time in Canada ? Once you have financial support for 6 month great !!

But respect your first visa and dont abuse it.
