How long after they ask for Passport? - Family class immigration

Around 2 weeks back I got a letter from CHC Islamabad that my visa is ready for issuance and that I should send in my passport... I sent the passport the next day but haven't heard from them since then.. Any idea how long does it take after they ask for their passport?

My case has been in process since April 2009!! it has been 15-16 months now!

I am so anxious to spend Eid with my husband and CHC is not replying at all or giving any sort of idea how logn would they take to send the passport back..

Can anyone guide me if they have had similar fate?

3 to 4 weeks in normal circumstances, i guess it should not take more than 1 month... Good Luck

inshallah you should be receiving it in 2-4 weeks maximum can u please share your timeline with me adn what additional documents did you submit? did you have to re-do the medical or resubmit the police certificates? kindly reply i am in the same vote as you are my husband applied for me in sept 2009 still waiting for my case to be processed will appreciate you help

yes it will take up to 4 weeks maximum if you compare with other posts

Hehe I have waited 15 months but these 3-4 weeks are becoming very hard to bear! but thank you for your replies.. it makes me feel hopeful!

Here's my time line:

March 2009 - Husband applied
April 2009 - Sponsorship Approved
May 2009 - Islamabad CHC started processing the application
Nov 2009 - They asked why have we not lived togehter and when will rukhsati will be done (We had just done the nikah, which is what everyone does I have heard.. people wait for the visa to come before they get the rukhsati done!!!)
Nov 2009 - We mailed them we didnt live together since rukhsati wasnt done and its planned for march
Dec 2009 - They asked to submit rukhsati AND honeymoon pictures
Mar 2010 - We submitted Rukhsati and Honeymoon pictures
Jul 6th 2010 - They asked to submit updated police certificates
July 9th 2010 - we submitted
July 12th 2010 - we received a letter to get my medical done again
July 26th 2010 - Got my medical done
July 28th 2010 - they sent letter that if i had done my medical i should send passport as visa seems to be ready for Issuance.

Waiting now

Awesome - this is the first good news in a while. Congrts. Like other said 4 weeks is norm. If you want to get here (Canada) before eid start booking you ticket now. Family of mine is having trouble getting a ticket since everything is booked.

Thank you! Yrah my husband and I have been trying to book flights but none are available as of yet...

I hop too Sana, My husband call me everyday after work, and now in Ramazan he calls early saying that everybody works until noon, after 12 nobody works. I hop in CIC office its not like that.
