Wodering how long it would take after medicals done to request for passport for stamping the visa? Any ideas? Is there a specific timeline regarding this?
I have also noticed that some people receive both medicals, passports, and rprf request all in one. Some others don't . In my case I only received the medical request. So. why is there a difference there? What does it imply?

I got the three in one package request yesterday, but in passport request, they wrote as, " Valid passport for yourself, spouse/common law partner, dependant after medical examination. I donot understand what they mean 'after medical examination". Does this mean that they are going to ask the passport again.

Tokyo office seems to be doing some trial and error! They are constantly correcting themselves as they handle more cases. In your case, I guess they are waiting for your security check to clear and then ask for passports. For my friend they did ask for passports along with medicals but they have not yet issued her visa. There is not much you can do at this point but to stay positive and wait.

The request by Tokyo office simply means you need your passports to do the medical examinations! In my friend's case, they gave her 30 days to submit passports and 60 days to do medicals! How can you do medicals say after 40 days if you have already submitted your passports? That makes me think that they are learning from their mistakes. It is also interesting that they asked for everything along with the 2nd AOR in your case! You have been lucky!
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I totally agree. It is so unpredictable in Tokyo's visa office how things will go and when visas will be given out and so on.
Yesterday I managed to send the last piece of document they requested and today the courier company confirmed that the package was delivered already. I also sent a case specific inquiry to kind of get an update on my status.
Let's see if they will respond. I am just hoping that we hear something . I know the name of this game is patience and optimism....just going to wait and hope for the best. Will let you and others know as soon as I hear anything.

I did by the way get an e-mail from the visa office to confirm receipt of the medical results and the police clearance certificate. That's all. They didn't give me an update on my status.
