how important in ielts in applying jobs in canada

hello... a newbie here. I am planning to get an ielts this year.is it necessary for me to have the test before obtaining a job in Canada or should I wait first before getting the test? Need an advise here.How important is the ielts in applying for a job in Canada? how long is the validity of the test ? What is the passing grade ?

Depends on which immigration program you are thinking to apply.
For some is the first thing you need to have.

ielts is mandatory for express entry and its valid for 2 years

No, it has to be valid when you receive the ITA and need to submit the documents. After that, you do not need the IETLS anymore.

For Temporary Foreign Workers isn't necessary.
So if you get a job offer LMIA based most probably you won't need it
