How early should I buy my air ticket?

If nothing new happens, I am traveling to Toronto in mid August. When should I buy my air ticket? Does the price increase if I buy it close to the date of the flight?

Yes, fares are usually cheaper the earlier you book. Most airlines are also offering some flexibility in changes due to the pandemic, I know Air Canada will allow one free change.

Don't make my mistake and wait till the last minute. Book a direct flight through Air India or Air Canada right now. It'll be cheaper to book now obviously.

You could also consider 1 stop transit with a short layover under 12 hours like Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai but I think the direct flight is safer for health and peace of mind.

Not a dumb question, good question. Yes you can provided your program validity is over a year...dont risk if your program is less than a year. I booked one way flight for my family... yes, they asked me when connecting through Schipol, AM and at Pearson why i have one way, and my answer was simple.. i’ll be here for over a year. However, booking one way is costly when you want to travel back to your home country
