I am just confuse with the 6 months maximum stay for TRV holders (multiple entry)......if one enters Canada say for 2 months (day 1 to day 60), cross the US border for a short trip and then re-enters Canada, does the counting continue from day 60 or start from day 1 again upon re-entering the country? Does leaving only for a few hours also considered as leaving the country? thanks

Actually it is my mom, she came from the Philippines but she is holding a Taiwan passport, she will be coming to Canada and US for a tour, so will leave & re-enter the country a couple of times since I can only accompany her mostly during weekends due to work, so need to know exactly how the counting works to make sure she will not over-stayed.
I am also confused about this. My wife entered Canada with me this January and her passport was stamped with an entry date. We then left for Mexico on a week later and returned to Canada after 1 week. The when she re-entered Canada her passport was not stamped again with an entry date. So we are also wondering when we should count this? the first entry or the second.
