How do they know whether you're applying inland or outland?

Hi all,

Canadian wife, sponsoring American husband... Since it appears that the application form is generic for any and all family class sponsorships, how the heck will CIC know whether our application is intended as inland or outland? I don't recall seeing any sort of box to check for that on the form, or anything. Would they get this just from the cover letter in the package? Or is it a certain P.O. Box in Mississauga that is different for inland/outland? We're doing outland, of course... Surely wouldn't want the app to get processed as inland by mistake

The forms are different, and get sent to different addresses.

The "Generic application form" is only one part of a much larger pack - there are specific forms for both the sponsor and Principal Applicant, and they are different depending on which pack you download.

Okay, I see that one form is different. And that the mailing P.O. boxes are different for inland/outland, BUT... There is only one Courier Address listed for everything. We're going to courier...so... I guess I will make sure it's CLEARLY and LARGELY MARKED EVERYWHERE that it's meant to go to the Outland US people...
