]Hello everyone! Guess whose officially a PR??? And yet I still have some questions regarding using my married name..
When I went for my final interview, the name they are putting on my PR Card is my maiden name because thats the name on my only picture identification from the states. They had a Service Ontario there for convenience and since I had my marriage certificate with me he put my name on SIN paper as my married name. So my question is was I supposed to tell them in the final interview that I wanted my PR card in my married name?? Is that even possible now since they will be sending my card in the mail in about a month to change it before it gets to me? Was I supposed to legally change my name in the states? I'm just confused ...especially because I don't want a hassle later on because only SIN is listed under my married name. I also want to put my OHIP under my married name too....

Congratulations on your CoPR! Unfortuantely, CIC will not change personal information on Record of Landing or Confirmation of Permanent Residence if the changes happened after they were issued to you. For example, CIC will not change the documents if your name changed after a marriage or divorce.
If you wish to change this information, you will have to apply for a new card using the application kit Applying for a Permanent Resident Card (IMM 5445).
