My closed work permit expires - 30-Nov-2013
My spouse's work permit expires - 31-Jan-2014
I am planning to file a PR application (with suppose listed as dependent) on or before 10-Oct and then file for BOWP on or around 15-Nov-2013 to continue staying and working in Canada. I understand that it may be almost end of Dec or Mid of Jan before I get my BOWP (if approved) and BOWP will not be issued for spouse.
How to go towards getting an open work permit for Spouse in this case? Spouse's visa (work visa) and work permit both expire on 31-Jan-2014. Would I have to file an application for open work permit for her after getting my BOWP? Can she continue to stay on implied status after filling that application till decision is made?
And, if it helps in finding an alternate and easier solution: both of us are independently eligible to file PR under CEC.

Could you please suggest ? I am also under the same situation ? Is it possible to apply for BOWP for principal applicant and Open WP for spouse at the same time using online application ?
hi all,
you can apply for BOWP for u and your spouse as well.
if you dont receive AOR by the time apply for BOWP, send em a letter explaining your situation that you have applied for PR and waiting for AOR.
send a paper application to be safe so that you can buy time.
i had applied for BOWP fr me and my spouse and received it.
we applied for new work permits. dnt send for renewal, coz if one of you is on a closed work permit will have to apply to file under a new one.
so it make no difference if u apply to the new work permit dept.

I'm in the same situation, I've a closed WP and my wife has an open one.
I already received the AOR in October, 2013 and our Work Permits will expire on April 27th.
I'll send my request for BOWP online including my wife within few days.
