House renting in Ottowa

We are moving to Ottowa from the UK next year and we're looking to rent near Embrun/Russel.

Can anyone advise me on the renting rules ? Would I need a guarantor ? Is the deposit a couple of months rent ?
Do I need to provide renting history ?

The deposit is required for the last month generally.

Will all depend if you arrive and are already employed. I think many landlords would be more likely to rent o you if you had a Canadian guarantor. Otherwise be prepared to provide proof of decent savings or you may have to offer to pay multiple months in advance. Very hard to speculate.
