Hi there,
I am little confused with the hours of work.
I worked part time for nearly 15 months and accumulated ~1000 hrs. Then I worked full time (40 hrs/week) for 2 months in another job.
My question is, can I take into account 40 hrs to calculate the total number of hours I worked or should I have to take only 30 hrs?
Do they consider anything above 30 hrs/week as overtime?
Thanks.

So maybe he needs to add even more a week or more weeks to that, just to be on the safe side. If the Visa Officers got different calculation, the application won't go well and may be ground for rejection. Once they said no, it is very hard to appeal, and you might need to reapply again...
Thanks nov1061, jes_ON and retwant for your reply.
Before I apply, I will make sure that I have more than 1560hrs to be on safe side.
From June, I will be having little more hours of work per week. I hope, by the time I apply, the overall cap of 8000 is not reached.
As of today, they have received 128 applications!
You are welcome! When you feel you have enough hours, we can help to check your hours for you. Visa Officers may have different calculations, but more opinions may work the best for you. Good luck~
That's very kind of you retwant. Since my hours varied from one week to other, I need to write the cover letter concisely in order to convince the VO.
Thanks again.
A cover letter is a good start, but you need to support it with documentation.
I worked part time for nearly 15 months and accumulated ~1000 hrs. So for this job, the easiest thing you could do is get a copy of your Record of Employment from Service Canada. It will provide an official record of your hours by pay period (whether it was weekly, bi-weekly, monthly...). http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/services/ei/employers/roe/
