1) My spouse does not have birth cert, but she has higher secondary Transfer Certificate that has name, dob and fathers name. Can I provide this in place of birth certificate?
2) lets say if one does not have the original document and only has photo copy, can such document copy be sent to cic, mentioning in a cover letter the reason why one does not have originals? Or get an affidavit for the same?

Hi,
They usually take proof for DoB. But for the safe side, you can get an affidavit from a lawyer and attach with application.
