help ... work permit ..

hello ..
im crossing over .. me my self is a pr in canada but i have an uncle who is in hongkong whom i want to be here in alberta ..

basically hongkong citizens are visa exempt to visit canada for about 6 months longest ..

my question is ..
if he is able to come here as a tourist or visitor .. if he gets a job or employer that has open LMO and plans to hire him .. can he apply for work permit while in here .. and start working ?? can someone please give me idea on how this works ... thanks !!

yes, definitely your uncle can come here as tourist, and then he can apply work permit once he get a job offer here. Many people make this short cut. Apply online, very fast!

i think seniors answers will be good.
Visitor have to be out first, then he can apply from his home land.

Does it really have to be in his home land? How about exit in USA and wait for the all the papers required?

yes, he can from USA.
Simple rule is that nobody on visitor visa can not file a work permit application. Or any other type of immigration application.

thanks for the replies and ideas ..

before someone told me .. while on visitor if he can secure a LMO he can just go to CIC and present it for processing .. then just go out the border turn around and get his work permit .. im not sure if that still exist
